01 -
Combine sour cream, chipotle sauce, sugar, smoked paprika, kosher salt, and lime juice in a bowl. Mix thoroughly, cover, and refrigerate until serving.
02 -
In a bowl, add sliced steak, green and red bell peppers, yellow onion, avocado oil, and lime juice. Toss well to coat all ingredients evenly.
03 -
Sprinkle fajita seasoning over the steak and vegetable mixture. Toss again to ensure even distribution of seasoning.
04 -
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (204°C) for 5 minutes. The marinated mixture can be cooked immediately or refrigerated for up to one hour prior to cooking.
05 -
Place the bell peppers and onions into the air fryer basket. Cook for 5 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to promote even cooking.
06 -
Add the steak strips atop the cooked peppers and onions in the air fryer basket. Cook for an additional 5 to 10 minutes depending on preferred doneness: 5-6 minutes for medium-rare, up to 10 minutes for well done.
07 -
Warm the flour tortillas. Serve the cooked steak and vegetables wrapped in tortillas. Top with chipotle cream sauce and chopped cilantro as desired.
08 -
Optionally, accompany the fajitas with prepared cilantro lime rice and additional lime wedges for squeezing.
