Preheat oven to 350°F using middle rack. Allow 10 minutes to heat fully.

Heat skillet over medium-high. Add beef and crumble while cooking for 5 minutes until browned. Drain on paper towels.

Return beef to skillet. Add Italian seasoning and pizza sauce. Stir and simmer 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Arrange bun halves cut side up on baking sheet. Optionally broil 30 seconds to toast.

Spoon meat mixture evenly on bun halves. Sprinkle cheddar cheese evenly over beef.

Bake assembled buns at 350°F for 12 minutes until cheese melts and edges are golden.

Let cool 3 minutes. Place top buns over bottoms and serve warm.
