Wonton Taco Cups (Print Version)

Crispy wonton cups filled with seasoned beef, salsa, and melted cheese, perfect for quick parties or dinner.

# Ingredients You'll Need:

→ Meat

01 - 1 pound ground beef (80/20 or 90/10)

→ Seasonings and Sauces

02 - 1 ounce packet taco seasoning
03 - ½ cup chunky salsa (mild or hot)
04 - ½ tablespoon olive oil (optional, for lean meat)

→ Wrappers

05 - 24 wonton wrappers

→ Cheese

06 - 1 cup shredded Mexican blend cheese

→ Optional Toppings

07 - Diced tomatoes
08 - Sour cream
09 - Diced red onion
10 - Chopped cilantro
11 - Taco sauce

# Step-by-Step Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 400°F and spray a 12-cup muffin pan with nonstick spray.
02 - Heat ½ tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat if using lean meat. Add ground beef and break into crumbles as it browns.
03 - Drain excess grease, then stir in taco seasoning and salsa. Remove from heat and set aside.
04 - Place two wonton wrappers overlapping at angles into each muffin cup to form cups. If using larger wrappers, one wrapper may suffice to cover each cup.
05 - Scoop approximately 2 tablespoons of the beef mixture into each wonton cup.
06 - Bake uncovered for 10 minutes until wonton wrappers are toasted and lightly browned.
07 - Immediately top each cup with shredded cheese to melt, then garnish with optional toppings of your choice.

# Extra Tips & Details:

01 - Use oil only if cooking lean ground beef; otherwise, skip. Do not add water to taco seasoning; salsa provides enough liquid.
02 - Leftovers keep best in an airtight container for 2-3 days; reheat in oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness.
03 - Ground beef mixture can be made ahead and frozen; assembled cups do not freeze well.
